Duke Energy Tech Talk

HVAC systems are one of the most important components of modern buildings. HVAC is not only important for indoor environments and human health but significant from an energy conservation point of view. Growing energy demands, cost, and associated environmental concerns directly impact the building HVAC system. Optimization of the system is important not only for environmental comfort but also in reducing energy consumption in buildings. Studies have been performed to analyze steam as a mechanism of cleaning HVAC coils to enhance performance by removing latent debris and microbial growth from on or within evaporator coils that restricts air flow and causes poor IAQ. The outcomes of various studies demonstrate both optimized IAQ and energy efficiency.

Tech Time is an Energy Efficiency lunch and learn program that is made available to all Duke Energy Employees – as well some invited large, external customers.

The audience is primarily made up of Commercial Business Energy Assessors, Commercial/Industrial Large Account Managers, Trade Ally Managers and personnel, Market Segment Managers, Energy Efficiency Program Mangers, and Energy Efficiency Engineers. Duke employees that attend do receive credit towards their AEE certifications.
